We had a wonderful July visit from Graddaddy & Grandmommy. We got away to San Diego area and stayed at the Welk Resort. This was a gorgeous property with 8 pools and recreational centers full of activities for the kids. We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of everything but we sure had fun!
Our room was right on a golf course and we had dinner outside while the kids ran around a played each night. Ashlyn was very determined to master the hula hoop!
Both Phil and Emily failed miserably at hula hooping, hence our contest did not last long:)
The girls thought this large jacuzzi tub was amazing! Especially since our whole family could fit (Jace was napping so he didn't get to join us for this photo).
Lots of pool time and lots of treats
Ashlyn was the only child tall enough to go on this water slide. She made friends with other guests and spent much of her time going on this over and over again.
Here we are heading down to the "Old Fashion 4th of July" party at the resort.
We joined in on the BBQ dinner, dancing, ice-cream sundae bar, water balloon toss and hula-hoop contest.
We spent an exciting day at Sea World (our first time there). The dolphin and whale shows were absolutely amazing. The kid's favorite attraction was walking through a shark tank with sharks on all sides. It truly felt like you were swimming with them.
These Beluga whales were beautiful and so unusual looking up close.
